Jerry Andriessen

Dr. Jerry Andriessen is an experienced senior researcher and project manager, with more than 100 journal and book publications on children’s writing, collaborative learning, ICT in education, argumentation and arguing to learn. He is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (U.S.-based) and the Journal of Computer-Assisted Learning (UK- based). He has coordinated the LEAD – 6th framework project, and participated as local project leader in 6 other EU-projects since 2000. He has participated in the design of 3 ICT environments for supporting argumentation (Digalo, Drew, and CoFFEE). He is an expert in qualitative and quantitative techniques for analysing interactions during collaborative learning activities. Experienced in teacher training workshops and in working with teachers and children.

Mirjam Pardijs

Mirjam Pardijs is an educational scientist, who worked as educational support manager at a large vocational education institutions, and at various learning and training institutions, before returning to the research community. She specialises in developing and supporting new forms of collaborative learning in small groups, supported by ICT. She has experience in developing various scenarios for a diversity of professional practices and supporting teachers in design-based research processes for innovation in education. She is very accomplished in interpreting collaboration and discourse processes in small groups.
